Healthy Recipes: The best burgers ever

Burgers fit kidsI bumped into an old friend the other day who I haven’t seen in a couple of years, and while we were talking about ‘the good old days’, she told me that she’ll never forget the ‘best burgers ever’ that I used to make.  The funny thing was that I made the recipe up one night out of what I had in the house, and it became a favourite for those nights – before kids – when we used to have unplanned meals at each others houses all the time.

I still make these burgers for my kids once in a while (who also call them the best burgers ever), so of course I had to make them that night and share the recipe with you.

Ingredients

(For about 10 burgers)

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of oats
  • 2Tbsp chutney
  • 2Tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1tsp of mixed herbs

Method

  • Mix all of the ingredients together
  • Shape into burger patty discs
  • Cook on a greased baking tray in the oven for about 15 minutes
  • Serve with rolls and salad of your choice

So yum!
